CIP Orchid Lounge Da Nang Review: Food, Showers & Seats

Quick verdict: The CIP Orchid Lounge at Da Nang International Airport is useful when you have lounge access and enough time before an international flight. The strongest features during my visit were the spacious seating, dedicated workstations, showers and a buffet substantial enough for a light meal. I would not pay a high walk-in price solely for the food.

I visited the lounge in Terminal 2 during a December departure. This review describes what I photographed and used on that visit, with current access details checked separately because lounge hours, participating cards and admission restrictions can change.

Finding the lounge in Terminal 2

This lounge is for international departures, so complete airline check-in, exit immigration and security first. Priority Pass currently places it on the mezzanine near Gates 6 and 7. Follow the current terminal signs rather than walking toward a domestic lounge with a similar access program.

• Confirm that your flight departs from Terminal 2.
• Have the same-day international boarding pass ready.
• Open the membership QR code before reaching the desk.
• Ask which facilities are operating if showers or rest areas are important to you.

Seating and work areas

The lounge felt larger and calmer than the public gate area during my daytime visit. It had several seating styles rather than one open room: armchairs, small tables, curved sofas, semi-private booths and computer workstations. That makes it practical for both couples and solo travelers who need to work.

Power access is still worth checking before settling in because not every seat is equally convenient for charging. If you need to join a call or finish work, choose a workstation before the lounge fills.

Which seating zone should you choose?

• Computer booths: best for focused work and a little visual privacy.
• Armchairs and small tables: best for eating or waiting as a pair.
• Curved sofas: useful for groups, though they feel less private.
• Quieter corners: better for resting, but check the nearest flight-information screen and charging point.

I would choose a seat before collecting food. It is easier to move with an empty tray than to search for power while carrying a meal and cabin bag.

Food and drinks

The breakfast buffet included hot dishes, noodles, pastries, fruit, yogurt and drinks. The selection was broad enough to replace a light airport meal, particularly for an early departure. It was functional lounge food rather than a reason to arrive hours early.

If you have dietary restrictions, inspect the buffet before relying on it as your only meal. Labels and choices can change by time of day, and cross-contact information may be limited.

Showers and other facilities

The shower rooms were the most valuable facility after seating and food. A shower can make a noticeable difference before a long flight, but allow time to ask staff and wait if the rooms are occupied. Priority Pass also currently lists day beds, massage chairs, Wi-Fi, flight information screens and a separate smoking room.

Using the shower without rushing

Ask about the shower as soon as you enter if it is a priority. Availability may be first-come, first-served, and boarding time—not lounge closing time—should determine when you finish. Keep a clean shirt, small toiletries and electronics in a separate pouch so you do not unpack the full suitcase.

During my visit the wash and shower areas looked clean and practical rather than luxurious. Their value is convenience: changing and showering before a long international flight can be more useful than another plate from the buffet.

How to access the lounge

Possible access routes include an eligible international business-class ticket, airline status, a lounge membership such as Priority Pass, or a participating credit-card benefit. The exact list changes, and a card that provides lounge access in one country may require pre-enrollment or a digital pass.

• Confirm whether guests cost extra.
• Keep the boarding pass and digital membership card ready.
• Do not assume entry is guaranteed at peak times.

How early should you arrive?

Do not arrive at the airport early only to maximize lounge time. First allow the check-in time recommended by your airline, then treat any remaining time as a bonus. A practical lounge visit is long enough for one meal, charging and perhaps a shower without repeatedly checking the boarding clock.

If access is capped at three hours, entering too early may also be pointless. Check the boarding gate and walking time before settling into a distant corner.

Is the CIP Orchid Lounge worth it?

Yes, if access is included: the seating, work areas, showers and light meal make it a useful pre-flight stop.

Maybe, if paying separately: compare the walk-in cost with how long you will actually stay and whether you need a shower or meal. For a short wait, the terminal may be enough.
